Largest Nuclear Powerplants

The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant in Japan is the world's largest nuclear power plant by capacity, with a net output of 7,965 MW. Owned by TEPCO, the plant has seven reactors. While it was shut down following the 2011 Fukushima disaster, it is currently in the process of restarting as of early 2026.

Kashiwazaki-Kariwa (Japan): 7,965 MW (7 reactors).

Bruce Nuclear Generating Station (Canada): Currently operating as the largest by capacity while Kashiwazaki-Kariwa was idle, with 8 reactors and over 6,200 MW capacity.

   Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station (China): 6 GW (6,000 MW) capacity.

 Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (Ukraine): The largest in Europe.
